Room with a view... Bienvenue a Paris!

From the moment we arrived in Paris we realised that London was just the appetiser to our epic voyage!

The trip on the Eurostar was a delight and we alighted at 2pm feeling refreshed and excited.  Jet lag was a distant memory.  We were hopeful  to kick on past 8.30! We opted for the chauffeur again (Black Lane) which again made the whole experience so easy (this company are well priced but if you ever intend to use them let me know so I can pass on some handy tips).

20 minutes later we arrived at our apartment in the 7th.  I researched apartments for some months before booking so you can imagine my delight when we arrived and the location and the apartment surpassed our expectations.

A stroll around the neighbourhood revealed it would satisfy all our (culinary)needs (read: patisserie, brasserie, maccaron'erie?, and much more!) Our first stop was some afternoon tea at a delightful little patisserie for some ice cream (kids) and croissant jambon (ken and I).  We were delighted that our lovely waitress was more than happy to speak to us in French despite our sometimes less than impressive delivery.

For our first night we booked Le Train Bleu at Gare du Lyon.  It scratched my nostalgic itch for the stylings of the Belle Époque era.  Some might say the decor of this heritage listed site outshines the food, and it is hard to argue. It is like dining in a museum. It was a delight.

We arrived home a sunset ( 9.45pm) in time to see the tour Eiffel light show from the balcony at 10pm.  Life's good.... Xoxo
